Long before this saree reached you, it began as something wild.
Deep in the forests of Jharkhand and West Bengal, wild silkworms spin their cocoons on the branches of Arjun trees — unhurried, untamed, and entirely their own. The silk that comes from these cocoons carries the memory of the forest: warm, earthy, and alive with a texture that cultivated silk can never replicate. This is Tussar silk in its most honest form.
The Ghicha Tussar Silk Saree takes this wild silk one step further. Ghicha weaving uses the short, broken fibres — the ones that require the most patience and the most skill to handle — and transforms them into a fabric of extraordinary character. Each thread is placed by hand. Each row of the weave is a decision made by an artisan who has spent years learning to read the loom the way a musician reads a score.
The result is a saree that feels unlike anything else. The surface is textured and tactile — slightly raised, warmly uneven, and rich with natural variation. The colour is the colour of the earth itself: a deep, golden-brown that catches light differently at every hour of the day. In the morning it glows softly. In the evening it deepens. Under festive lights, it shimmers with a quiet confidence that needs no embellishment.
Wear it to a Durga Puja saptami in Kolkata, where the city transforms and every woman in silk becomes part of the celebration. Choose it for a Diwali puja in Nagpur, where the diyas burn long into the night. Let it be your saree for a Teej vrat in Jaipur, a Navratri aarti in Vadodara, or a wedding reception in Bhubaneswar where the bride’s family wears their finest and you wear yours.
This is the saree for the woman who understands that the most beautiful things in life come from the earth, are made by hand, and are worn with intention.
From the forest. Through the loom. To you.
