Return, Exchange, and Refund Policy – Dakshin Vastram
At Dakshin Vastram, we are dedicated to ensuring a satisfying shopping experience for our customers. This policy is structured by region — please read the section that applies to your delivery location.
🌍 India, UK, USA, Australia, Canada & Rest of World
Returns
- We offer a 30-day return window from the date you receive your order.
- To initiate a return, email us at info@dakshinvastram.com with your order details and reason for return. Returns without prior communication will not be accepted.
- If your return is accepted, we will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
- Items must be in their original, unused, and unfolded condition with all tags, packaging, and invoices intact.
- Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. We do not provide pickup services for returns unless the item is incorrect or defective due to our error.
- Items that have been altered, customised, or modified in any way are not eligible for return, exchange, or cancellation.
- Products purchased during sales, discounts, or special offers are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or cancellation.
Cancellations
You may cancel your order before it is fulfilled. To cancel, please visit your account portal at https://account.dakshinvastram.com or click the View Order link in your Order Confirmation email. Our team will respond within 2–3 business days.
Refunds
- Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome.
- If approved, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 15 business days. Banks and card providers may take additional time to post the refund.
- If more than 15 business days have passed since approval, contact us at info@dakshinvastram.com.
🇪🇺 European Union
If your order is delivered to a European Union country, you have the statutory right of withdrawal — the right to cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving the last item in your order, for any reason and without justification. This 14-day window includes weekends and public holidays.
Exceptions — Personalised & Custom Orders
The right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. At Dakshin Vastram, this includes:
- Sarees or kurtis with blouse stitching added at your request
- Fall & pico finishing
- Any other customisation applied before dispatch
These are exempt under EU Consumer Rights Directive Article 16(c).
How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
Notify us before the 14-day deadline using any of the following:
- Account portal: https://account.dakshinvastram.com
- View Order link in your Order Confirmation email
- Cancel Contract form via the EU Customer Rights menu in our store footer
- Written statement to info@dakshinvastram.com
You may use this model withdrawal statement: "I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract of sale of the following goods: [item name / order number], received on [date]. Name: [your name]. Address: [your address]. Date: [date]."
Return Shipping
Return the item within 14 days of notifying us, in its original unworn condition with all tags and packaging intact. We will cover return shipping costs for EU withdrawal returns.
Refunds
Your refund will be processed within 14 calendar days of us receiving the returned goods (or proof of return, whichever is earlier), to your original payment method. This applies to all eligible purchases, including sale items.
Shared Policies — All Regions
Exchanges
- You may request an exchange within 30 days (EU: 14 days) for a different size or colour, subject to availability.
- Exchanges are processed as a separate order after the original item is returned and approved.
- Shipping costs for exchanges are the customer's responsibility in all regions. For EU customers: this applies to exchanges only — return shipping for withdrawal cancellations is covered by us at no cost to you. Where an item is incorrect or defective due to our error, we will cover all shipping costs regardless of region.
Damages & Incorrect Items
Please inspect your order upon delivery and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged, or incorrect. An unboxing video is strongly recommended to support any such claim.
Pre-Orders
Pre-orders are orders placed for items not yet in stock or currently in production. You may cancel a pre-order at any time before dispatch with a full refund. Once dispatched, standard return windows apply based on your region (30 days for India, UK, USA, Australia, Canada & Rest of World; 14-day statutory withdrawal right for EU customers). Pre-orders for custom or personalised items follow the same exemptions as standard custom orders — see Kurti & Blouse Stitching / Fall & Pico below.
Kurti & Blouse Stitching / Fall & Pico
If you add blouse stitching, fall & pico, or kurti stitching to your order:
- Once stitching begins, the order cannot be cancelled, exchanged, or altered.
- Stitched items are non-returnable, non-refundable, and not eligible for exchange — including for EU customers (exempt under Article 16(c)).
- Stitching may add 2–3 extra days to your delivery time.
Each piece is tailored individually to your measurements — we appreciate your understanding.
Additional Notes
- Customs & Duties: All orders include DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service — no extra customs duties, VAT, or import fees at delivery.
- Colour Disclaimer: Slight colour variations may occur due to photography lighting or screen settings.
- We reserve the right to decline a return or refund if the product does not meet our return conditions.
