Most heirlooms are inherited. This one, you choose.

This Bishnupur Pure Katan Silk Saree is the kind of saree that does not stay in a wardrobe. It gets worn. It gets remembered. It gets passed on. And somewhere along the way, it stops being just a saree and becomes a part of your family's story.

It was handwoven in Bishnupur — a town in West Bengal that has been creating some of India's most extraordinary silk sarees for centuries. A town where the loom is as much a part of the home as the kitchen, where children grow up watching their parents weave, and where the craft is not taught in classrooms but absorbed through years of watching, helping, and eventually doing.

The weaver who made this saree did not follow a template. He followed a tradition. And that tradition is now yours to wear.

The Fabric of Generations

Katan silk is woven from mulberry silk threads that are twisted before they are woven — a technique that gives the fabric its characteristic density, its deep and steady sheen, and its ability to hold a drape that looks considered and feels effortless. The motifs — drawn from Bengal's centuries of visual storytelling through temple art, nature, and folk tradition — are woven directly into the silk. They cannot be washed away. They cannot fade. They are as permanent as the craft that created them.

This is a saree that will look as beautiful in twenty years as it does today.

What You Will Treasure About It

  • Pure Katan Silk — handwoven on traditional pit looms in Bishnupur, West Bengal, by weavers who carry generations of knowledge in their hands
  • Handwoven Bengal motifs — each pattern a piece of living heritage, woven in and permanent
  • A drape that flatters and endures — the weight of real Katan silk falls beautifully on every body, every time
  • An heirloom in the making — a saree that grows more precious with every year and every occasion it witnesses

The Occasions It Will Witness

Festivals & Pujas: Durga Puja, Diwali, Poila Boishakh, Kali Puja, Saraswati Puja, Lakshmi Puja, Jagaddhatri Puja, Navratri, Dussehra, Makar Sankranti, Rath Yatra, Onam, Pongal, Baisakhi, Eid.

Life's most unforgettable moments: Bengali weddings, Ashirbaad, Holud ceremonies, Biye bari, Annaprashan, Upanayana, Griha Pravesh, engagement ceremonies, anniversary dinners, baby showers, and every family gathering that deserves to be dressed in something truly beautiful.

Cherished across India: Kolkata, Shantiniketan, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Rourkela, Delhi, Lucknow, Varanasi, Kanpur, Allahabad, Patna, Ranchi, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mysuru, Thiruvananthapuram, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Indore, Bhopal — wherever women understand the value of something made to last.

Choose Your Own Heirloom

You do not have to wait to inherit something beautiful. You can choose it. You can buy it for yourself, on a day when you decide that you deserve something extraordinary. Or you can give it to someone whose story you want to be part of — a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend.

Either way, this saree will be remembered. Not just for how it looks, but for what it meant. For the occasion it was worn to. For the woman who wore it.

Handwoven in Bishnupur. The heirloom you choose for yourself.
