Stitching Traditions – My Wedding Saree from Bishnupur

I couldn’t fly back to India for my wedding, but my heart did. My mother picked a Bishnupuri Silk Than and shipped it to me in New Jersey. I had it stitched by a local tailor here. When I wore it on my big day, it didn’t matter that we weren’t in India. That silk made everything feel right.
