The Ghicha Tussar Saree I Bought for My Daughter’s Graduation

She was born in California but grew up listening to stories of Santiniketan. For her university graduation, I gifted her a Ghicha Tussar saree from Dakshin Vastram. “It feels like a blessing, Baba,” she said, wrapping it around herself. Her photo in that saree went viral in our community group. It was heritage walking across a foreign stage. I couldn’t have been prouder.
