Saree, Sweets, and Video Call – A Diwali Ritual

My kids were born in the USA. They don’t know what Diwali in Hyderabad feels like. But I try to recreate it. Sweets. Rangoli. Diyas. And a saree — always a saree.

This year, I wore a Dakshin Vastram pure silk saree. The zari shimmered like the diyas in our living room. My amma, watching from India, smiled proudly.
